Select two images from the Internet: one you consider to be

designed well and another you consider to be poorly designed.

The images should be something like banners, online

advertisements, or reproductions of print advertisements – not

just a photograph or illustration.

Write a 350- to 700-word paper that evaluates the images you

have selected.

Explain why one image demonstrates effective design and why

the other demonstrates ineffective design. Consider at least two of

the following aspects of visual design:

  • Color
  • Contrast
  • Symmetry and asymmetry
  • Balance
  • Alignment
  • Proximity
  • Visual hierarchy
  • Typography

Explain how you would improve the poorly-designed image using

any of the Adobe® Photoshop® tools you have learned about this

week.

Cite the images consistent with APA guidelines.

Include the image files in your assignment submission.

Create, individually, design prototypes for the poster and web

advertisements. Your design prototypes should be consistent with

the principles of effective visual design. (each individual team

member must post ideas for each of the prototypes in the Team

Forum for all team members to review – this will be taken into

consideration when posting individual team grades)

Submit your individual design prototypes to your Learning Team for

review prior to Week Four.

Submit a team progress report to your instructor explaining what

your team accomplished during the week, challenges your team

faced, and whether all individuals submitted design prototypes to the

team.

Three.

Select one poster and one web advertisement design to be used for

the final submission to your instructor.

Submit a team progress report to your instructor explaining what

your team accomplished during the week, challenges your team

faced, and questions.

Begin making final revisions to the two designs your team selected.

For example, if your team selects a poster design from one team

member and a web advertisement design from another team

member, you may need to make modifications to the two designs to

ensure a consistent theme or color scheme.

Begin writing the executive summary (Due Week Five).

All students on a team must show ACTIVE participation in theTeam Forum in order to receive related points.

Submit the following deliverables to your instructor:

  • 11” x 14” poster designed for print, delivered as an unflattened.PSD file (10 points)
  • 300 x 300 pixel web advertisement, delivered as an unflattened

.PSD file and a flattened .JPEG file of no more than 200 KB (10

points)

1,050- to 1,750-word executive summary
