POS 410  Week 4 Individual Assignment Add Records/ Query Database

Instructions: Add the records from the data sheet for Week Four.  Split the records between all team members so each team member is writing a portion of the SQL code for this week.  Each team member is to execute the code creating the database, the table, and the final result set. Create Queries against the Team Database. Each team member is required to write one of the queries and execute it successfully. The queries are as follows:

  • Query One: Create one account number query that uses LIKE or BETWEEN to display a number of Account Numbers in one result set. This account number query should add a column in the query that parses out and displays the first two digits of the account number using SUBSTRING and CONVERT (if required). Execute the code and take a screenshot of the code and the results. Note: The query will display all fields (account number, store name, short description, long description, balance, and any others you may have added. If you have more than one table, you will need to JOIN the tables to include columns from each table) using the account number to filter the results of the query.
  • Query Two: Create one query that displays all the information in the tables based on one of the Short Descriptions. This query should add a column in the one query that parses out and displays the first 2 digits of the account number using SUBSTRING and CONVERT (if required). Execute the code and take a screenshot of the code and the results. Note: The query will display all fields (account number, store name, short description, long description, balance, and any others you may have added. If you have more than one table, you will need to JOIN the tables to include columns from each table) using one store name of your choice to filter the results of the query.
  • Query Three: Create one query that displays all the information you entered in the tables based on one of the Short Description and "inventory." This query should add a column in the one query that parses out and displays the first 2 digits of the account number using SUBSTRING and CONVERT (if required). Execute the code and take a screenshot of the code and the results. Note: The query will display all fields (account number, store name, short description, long description, balance, and any others you may have added. If you have more than one table, you will need to JOIN the tables to include columns from each table) using one store name of your choice and "inventory" to pull out all the inventory records for that store to filter the results of the query.
  • Query Four: Create one query that displays all the information you entered in the tables based on the description of Meat & Seafood and ORDER BY Long Description. If you have more than one table, you will need to JOIN the tables to include columns from each table) using "Cheese & Dairy" to filter the results of the query. Each student is to update the full database with everyone's records. Select all the records in the Chart of Accounts Table and display.  Take a screenshot of the executed code and the results. Update the Team Project Plan with who did each task for this week and submit with the Week Four assignment. Take screenshots of the successfully executed code and copy into a Word document.
