  • Option 1: Create a 7- to 10-slide, multimedia rich, PowerPoint® presentation with speaker notes.
  • Option 2: Create a 2-minute instructional video. Examples of tools to use include: your mobile phone video recording software or another video recording software you have available.

WEEK  2

 POS 355 Week 2 Learning Team Assignment Operating Systems Project, Part I


Instructions: Review your Learning Team Assignment Instructions found in Week One and select the type of presentation your team will submit for your final project. Begin building your final project due in Week Five. For this week's assignment, select one Network Operating System, one Standalone Operating System, and one Mobile Device Operating System. Complete the following for each Operating System:

  • Create an Architectural Operating System diagram showing the communication channels between all three systems. Create a reference log that identifies the resources and/or references you used in creating your diagram.
  • Create an Operating System Process diagram showing the processing channels between all three systems. Create a reference log that identifies the resources and/or references you used in creating your diagram.
  • Create a Memory Management diagram showing the memory management between all three systems as they interact. Create a reference log that identifies the resources and/or references you used in creating your diagram.

Note: You may use a diagramming software, such as Microsoft® Visio®, or any other diagramming software to complete the diagrams. These diagrams and reference logs will also be used in your final project due in Week Five. Compile multiple files into a ZIP folder, if necessary. Instructions: Select and complete one of the following options for your individual deliverable this week:

POS 355 Week 3 Learning Team Assignment Operating Systems Project, Part II

 
Instructions: Continue building your final project due in Week Five. Complete the following steps for each Operating System you chose in Week Two to add to your team's project:   

  1. Create an Operating System File Management diagram for each Operating System (OS) your team selected (one Network OS diagram, one Standalone OS diagram, and one Mobile Device OS diagram). Include a reference log that identifies the resources and/or references you used in creating your diagram.
  2. Choose one of the following, depending on the type of project your team decided to complete:
  • Five to six multimedia-rich slides to add to final presentation that explains three to five key facts in Network OS Management, Standalone OS Management, and Mobile Device OS management Include a reference log that identifies the resources and/or references you used in creating your diagram.       
  • Script for the video or audio presentation that explains three to five key facts in Network OS Management, Standalone OS Management, and Mobile Device OS management Include a reference log that identifies the resources and/or references you used in creating your diagram. Note: You may use a diagramming software, such as Microsoft® Visio®, or another diagramming software to complete the diagrams. Instructions: Create an Operating System (OS) File Management diagram for each of the following Operating Systems:   

  • Network Operating System
  • Standalone Operating System
  • Mobile Device Operating System Note: You may use a diagramming software, such as Microsoft® Visio®, or another diagramming software to complete the diagrams. Select and complete one of the following options in addition to your diagram:
  • Option 1: Create a 10- to 12-slide, multimedia rich PowerPoint® presentation, with speaker notes that explains Operating System File Management and Concurrency. Use a minimum of two supporting diagrams to visually represent file management. Include the narrator notes and diagrams as separate attachments. Add a reference log that identifies the resources and/or references you used in your presentation.   
  • Option 2: Create a 2-minute instructional video explaining Operating System File Management and Concurrency. Use a minimum of two supporting diagrams to visually represent file management. Instructions: Continue building your Week Five final project. Compare and contrast the proposal to use a Virtual Network versus a Hardware Server Network. Create a comparison chart that includes the pros and cons for each network. Include a recommendation and explanation of how the standalone and mobile devices will work with the recommended network. Add a reference log that identifies the resources and/or references used in creating your chart. Note: This chart and reference log will be used in your final project due in Week Five. Compress the comparison chart and recommendation into a ZIP folder.

Instructions: Complete your learning team's final presentation by selecting one of the following options:   

  • Option 1: Create a 10-slide, multimedia rich PowerPoint® presentation with speaker notes, that uses all of the diagrams, charts, or other artifacts created during Weeks Two, Three, Four, and Five, to convince the executive sponsors to purchase your team's recommended Operating System for all three types of Operating Systems; Network OS, Standalone OS, and Mobile Devices OS. Title, agenda, or reference slides are not considered in the minimum slide count.   
  • Option 2: Create a 2-minute instructional video using all of the diagrams, charts, or other artifacts created during Weeks Two, Three, Four, and Five, to convince the executive sponsors to purchase your team's recommended Operating System for all three types of Operating Systems; Network OS, Standalone OS, and Mobile Devices OS. Examples of tools you may use include your mobile phone video recording software or other video recording software you have available.

Write a 2- to 3-page paper that describing the OS you chose. Address how the selected operating system would be used in your business or another business environment. Identify the operating system requirements that would be needed for the computing environment. Include how the system would function versus standalone operating systems. Format your paper according to APA guidelines.
