Using Chapters 9, 10, & 11 in Assessing Student Learning, review the content and the Assessment and Scoring Key concepts.
Select one option to complete the assignment. You can choose from the following options:
Option 1: Microsoft® PowerPoint® 
Visualize that you have been tasked with assessing new employees at your current place of employment or with a company that you are interested in working for.
Create a traditional assessment that includes the knowledge, skills, and policies that employees need to know to be successful. Include a scoring key that provides the answers and point values for each question included on the assessment.
Include the following requirements:
The assessment must be a minimum of 30 questions and vary in format every 6 questions.
Include various formatting options for the objective assessment. These include but are not limited to, multiple choice, fill in the blank, true or false, short answer, or matching test items.

Select a company.
Review the company and its business model.
Reflect on areas within other companies that are similar that have had problems or needed trainings to overcome challenges.
Discuss with your team areas that you feel may need improvement based on your reflection. The areas can be used to develop a needed training scenario based on experience, research, current events, or training that is needed in a team member's place of employment.
Select one area that needs improvement that the team agrees upon. Then apply this area of needed improvement to your organization's business model.
Write a 700- to 1,050-word paper describing the company that was chosen and the scenario that the team developed in which a training opportunity would improve employee or company performance. Identify the training opportunity, the rationale behind the team's choice, types of summative assessments that could be used with the training, and how a summative assessment would measure the learned concepts checking for student understanding.

Option 2: Areas of Improvement Proposal to Executives

Option 2: Effective Assessment Techniques.

Design a training lesson plan that will instruct participants on the use of authentic and traditional assessments. Include the following in the training lesson:

An analysis of learning

Data collected from a 10-question assessment that measures the objectives from your areas of need in Week 2. The data should reinforce the team's decision for future organizational training needs.
Include the steps or the plan moving forward that the training team/department will have to accomplish to close the instructional gaps through instruction.
Write a 1,050- to 1,225-word paper explaining the team's findings from the assessment data. Include a brief introduction to your scenario, an action plan that you and your team will develop to correct or close the gaps between learning and performance, a list of resources that the training team may need, and the budget that will be needed to implement the instruction and post assessment piece for evaluation.

Resources: The team preparation and collaborative effort to interview four individuals who work in the assessment and evaluation field. The course readings, electronic readings, and the University Library.
Develop a list of 8- to 10-questions to ask each individual regarding the purpose, development, implementation, and analysis of assessments and evaluations used in their learning environments.
Interview four individuals that your team selected in Week 4 using the interview questions that were developed in Week 5. One of the individuals must be postsecondary instructor, such as college faculty, and three must be training facilitators, such as professional development educators or corporate trainers.
Analyze the interview findings for similarities and contrasts in assessment and evaluation across industries.
Prepare a 12- to 15-slide Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation comparing and contrasting ways in which postsecondary instructors, facilitators and trainers use assessment and evaluation, the development process, the implementation process, and how they analyze assessments and evaluations toward purposeful data reporting.
Submit your Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation with speaker notes for clarification if needed.
