Describe how the situation developed. 
Illustrate how the company responded to the situation. Was the company's communication appropriate to the situation? What elements were missing?  
Select one or two potential solutions, such as social media messages, better listening, clarity of message, and business communication etiquette that might have been used to resolve your example. 
Include answers to the following questions in your paper:
Since the negative message was already out there, how did the company attempt to balance it with a counter message?
How could an organization prevent this problem by having a social media strategy in place?
How have you experienced the power of social media in affecting your decisions?
How can institutions plan a positive response to a bad impression caused by social media?

Choose an organization with which you are familiar. Search the organization's website for a recent news release. Titles might include words such as public relations, media relations, or news. 
Locate a recent electronic version of a corporate news release featuring a positive announcement (such as a new product, a positive earnings report, a new hire, an award for excellence) and one that addresses some negative news (such as a negative earnings report or a recall notification). 
Write two 500-word business e-mails addressed to the public relations team responsible for writing the corporate news releases. In one e-mail, offer your critique of the effectiveness of the positive news release, and critique the negative news release in the other e-mail. 
Include a short description of the main differences between a news release and a general corporate statement presented on a website or in corporate information. 
Address the following items:
Who was the target audience? (Remember that news releases are designed for media publications as opposed to the general public.)
Was the headline clear and to the point?
Did the news release contain any jargon or language that was too complex or unclear?
Was the news release informational or promotional? List elements that support your claim.
Was the writing style professional?
How did word choice help to convey the tone of the story? Provide examples.
Did the news release contain any elements that might be interpreted as misleading or vague?
Which elements might have further enhanced this news release?
